Site is clean here and being a Pimproll tube makes even more unlikely that was the culprit.
Not that PR tubes are necessarily more secure but there would be a massive shitsotrm all over if this was going on with them I'd think.

I don't. From an SEO standpoint, I can't see how that would seen as anything other than spammy or obvious link trading. Why is an English speaking surfer going to be interested in visiting a German blog that is mostly text? Or the other way around. I don't know why you think that's an American quest...
