Selling a website

If a trader on Linkspun sells a website, for which he has made trades, would they be within their right to request those trades be dropped so that they no longer have to honor them? I have mixed feelings. I know that part of the value of the site sold was it's back links and SERP's, but at the same ...

Sites On Individual IP's

Some hosting companies have been requested by ARIN to no longer provide a single IP with a single domain due to the global shortage of IP addresses under the current address numbering scheme. I don't know how long this has been going on, but the one I just got notice from is a pretty big hosting com...

Re: Linkspun Paid Feature Poll.

Maybe add the poll option, Yes, but with a different price. I would go for a paid option, but not sure $20 is the right price point.

Re: Want new features and a faster, more efficient linkspun?

i see that you have put the locked account feature in place if trades are not setup, and it appears you have set the lower limit to lock the account at 10 pending setups. (actually at this point we have 20 in the que, 10 we are waiting on the other partner to complete and 10 that I just approved fr...

Removing a trade

I have a trade that we initiated, that was requested in error. The other side already approved and setup his link. However upon reviewing the trade I realized it should not have been requested as it runs counter to our linking strategy. I have commented now, twice, in the trade, requesting the other...

Re: Is link trading only for SERP?

Nobody says anyone has to build picasso's here. What is being said is that we are not here to only trade links just to get links spread around. I'm talking mainly about some that launch new blogs, leave default theme elements, sometimes even the "hello world" post, maybe a few posts from e...

Re: Is link trading only for SERP?

I highly suspect that the quality of the sites you link to is an important part of SEO. I always check the sites I'm being asked to link to and if they don't look like something I feel my surfers would like to visit, I don't trade links. Agree, there must be surfer value to the trade as well, not j...

Re: Is link trading only for SERP?

This is a good discussion. I'd really like to hear more about it as I'm still trying to learn all I possibly can and link trading is certainly one of my 'least knowledgeable' topics now. clickxnet, I wonder if you are 'pointing the finger' at me (we have some trades) - as I'm guilty of some of thos...

Re: Is link trading only for SERP?

His SERP's plus the clicked traffic from the surfer...a well rounded trade. I think keeping this kind of trade is exactly what we should be doing. If you will, a more 3 dimensional look at link trading, as opposed to just looking at it from the SERP value of the trade.

Is link trading only for SERP?

I think many people seem to have evolved into the mindset that link trading is ONLY for SERP's and SEO and have completely discounted that link trading also has surfer value or even sometimes, heck, even clicked traffic value. Heaven forbid we should build links between sites so that surfers can fol...

Re: Rescanning Sites

Hi, Thanks for the offer. I'd like to get all my sites rescanned as we've removed our internal network link block on all the sites that we used initially to get them all scanned by the bots. This was inflating our outbound link count on all the sites preventing us from making a number of trades. Tha...

Re: Partial Denials Needed (Reject Button Option)

You just comment the trade and partner sees it and he can change that. You just don't approve until you like it. Yeah but since the messaging system is passive (you get no notices by email if you have a message) I believe many people simply don't pay attention to this area of the site much. I've se...

Re: No Follow Checking

I think it depends on the purpose / function of the site in question. A blog's purpose is to inform / entertain "people" of / with it's internal content but a site such as a directory or link site has the function to show external, niche or subject related web resources thus directing &quo...

Re: No Follow Checking

As I understand it, G DOES count the no-follow links in its PR calculation but DOESN'T pass the PR through those links, as jdoughs says this is to prevent PR sculpting. So the more no-follow links you have on your page, the lower the PR you will be passing through normal links, therefore they shoul...

Re: No Follow Checking

Right. Agree. But link traders are using that outbound link statistic in LinkSpun to indicate the amount of PR "leakage", PR strength or lack of PR strength, a trade would be able to pass to them. Since the purpose of the "nofollow" attribute is to prevent PR passing, then counti...

Okay. Great. And since it understands the "nofollow" link attribute, does it count links with the rel="nofollow" attribute as outbound links or ignore them in this count?
