Penalty from Google - reason, cure, right way to do this

Post by SomeWebMaster »

My adult site is new, 7 months. My SEO experience is also 7 months long (that's my only site). I built backlinks in three ways: here, by directly sending emails to webmasters with link exchange proposal, and some sites linked on their own to my site. And everything was fine until...

During last 15 days my site's traffic dropped 80% (and it's still going down but slower). Ranking for most important keywords dropped from Google's first search results' page to 3-5th page. After saying WTF and few hours of shock I started researching reasons and cure. There are no definite answers, just general recommendations (we all know them) so mostly useless.

In state of mild panic I checked all backlinks, selected most suspect ones and disavowed them (after contacting other side and deleting from my site). To find suspect links I used SEMRUSH and MOZ tools, and of course visual control of the sites and common sense.

From one site here in exchange for one link on my side I got 20,000 links from that site (they put link to my site in repeating footer of a tube site) - at that time it looked like a good deal but I suppose it was one of the reasons for Google's anger. I also suppose Google doesn't like if my page has a link to some other site's page and that page links directly back to my page, and I have a lot of it.

So after this long introduction I have few questions:
  1. How to get out of this s*t and make Google love me again?
  2. Did I guess well reasons for punishment? Is there any other wrong way to use this site? I don't want to learn all those wrong ways from my own mistakes, please share yours :)
  3. What is the safe way to use this site, or at least safe enough? I suppose instead of linking A->B + B->A it's better A->B + C->A where B and C are different sites of the same owner, or at least different pages on the same site.
  4. Would you add anything on this subject or recommend some resource for reading? Except Google's webmaster quality guidelines ;)
Thanks in advance

Hello SomeWebMaster

you do what the most starters do working without learning first.

You disavow Bad Links ? how you recognize them ? The Tools are all shit

First start is getting the free App "Majestic Backlink Analyzer" for your browser.
Then Create a Excel Sheet with all the links you swapped here. Go to the site and Check the following things

Footer link
Sidewite
Visible (hidden is worst)

After that check all the sites for Backlinks. How many they have. Links from a site without BL or only few are bad for your ranking. If you have many from them stop the worst

IT IS NOT IMPORTANT IF IS A SUBDOMAIN OR MAINSITE THE AMOUNT OF BL FROM THE SITE ARE IMPORTANT.

How is the mix of your linked keywords
A good mix is
Each 20% Domainkeys Example "Domain.com" "www.domain.com" "http://www.domain.com/"
20% keys like "here" "more" "Click here" and others
15% long term keys 4 to 5 Words (no money keys)
2-5% Moneykeys but minimum 5 Different

Good Luck

Hi dirmyl
Thanks a lot. I suppose I should check some site before accepting link exchange.
Any suggestion how to fix relationship with Google, or it will be done automatically after disavowing links? But how much time is needed?

Hi
Fingers away from disavow that cause only problems. I belive you need more Domainlinks in your mix and maybe some better links (Links from sites with 100 links and 4-5 outgoing links) so you get enough power from them.

The next thing is didnt see very much links. My linking tool (majestic.com) shows only links from 28 different domains. 28 powerlinks and the domain will rank on 1. its the quality of your backlinks.

If you dont like a link anymore stop the trade. But fingers away from disavow it shows google only that you try to help your domain in ranking

Regards

PS will sent you also an PM

Well I act fast, for good or bad :) I disavowed more than 20 domains. I built it once, I will build again but more careful and with new experience.
There's a problem here: I dropped trade, deleted links, sent messages to the other side but my links on their pages are still present. People don't react. So disavowing looked like only option (besides ignoring the problem, of course).

You don't have much in the way of linking right now.

http://prntscr.com/lc3bdr

As was said previously, you should have more links for the index page:

animehentaihub.com
https://animehentaihub.com

And then some variations of stuff people often use in a blog post naturally:

here
this link

I would have avoided this link:
http://amfiles.xyz/

The reason why is that it seems to give links to anything and everyone. If you notice where you link is, the owner of this site doesn't use a list format, and instead has them all one after the other, so that they look like less links than they are. But that is a lot of links.

I also wouldn't use a link from anything on a stupid TLD. So .us, .info, .biz, .xyz... I wouldn't accept one if it was given to me from God. Those domains cost $1.99 and Google figures this is all spam bullshit.

Another reason I wouldn't accept a link from this blog is that it has very thin content. It just lists a shitload of what amount to being description tags for each video.

Now.. You asked this person for "Best Sex Shops"

Why? Your page is NOT a sex shop. And it certainly isn't the best. And it isn't a list of shops... so why plural and not singular?

Good keywords for that page would be more like:
anime sex dolls
anime sex dolls for sale
hentai sex dolls
buy hentai sex dolls here
check out these fantasy sex dolls
anime posters
anime mouse pad
nude anime posters
etc...

Then Google is getting a variation of things that actually have to do with the content of the page. And you should only be asking for links from other pages having to do with anime/hentai. The entire site doesn't need to be about toons, but the page you get your link from should be about it 100%.

You have this link:
http://hardero.com/
into:
https://animehentaihub.com/hentai-games/
With:
Free Porn Games

Another site where the owner lists the links in a big blob to try and hide the shear number of them. This is a piece of shit link farm and Google is not tricked. The site is in Russian! Or something like it. Why in the fuck would you want a link from there? Japanese maybe! If it had to do with Hentai or Anime. But not a Russian site with nothing about Anime!?!?!

Again... Another site with thin content that means NOTHING to Google other than this is a link farm and has no value. (except to alert Google to your link-fixing scheme)

Google hates people who use the word Free in link anchors. Absolutely hates you!
So don't do that as often as possible. Unless something is truly free and then only sparingly.

I might have used:
cool anime games
play anime games online
anime game reviews
list of the best porn games
list of Anime porn games
top Anime games for 2018

You also got a link into your store page from that same site. Not a deal killer to get two links into two different pages from the same site, but ideally you would like them to be wrapped in supporting text. So if you bought a blog post from a site with well written content and the post had 150 words or so and mentioned these links without straining, and ou paid $8 to $10 for the post... You'd be growing.

It is a bad idea to get links from sites with shit content.
Same for pages not in your sites language or targeting your sites content. (A blog post on a Japanese blog about Anime would be fine)
Never accept links from throw-away domains (xyz, biz, info, etc).
Don't link into your site that makes you money unless the link is high quality in all aspects of everything I have mentioned above.

I rarely take a link into my money sites. Usually I get links from LinkSpun that link into my blogs and other supporting sites of my money sites.

So... If I owned a MILFdating site... I would NOT link into IT... I'd get MILF and dating links into my MILF and dating blogs. Then I'd link my blogs into my MILF dating site. With posts. Not links. And I'd buy posts from others. You can find some quality people at gfy.com in the selling/buying forum. There are shitty sites there too!

The only sidebar links into that MILF site would be from high quality MILF sites with an Alexa rating below 100,000. And I might expect to pay $200 to $1000 per year for the link.

How do I pay for that? By starting out with LinkSpun. Getting money coming in. Use it to buy better links. Only add 1 to 5 links per 2 to 4 days. And when buying a stronger link, only buy one or two per month.

Bought links can have money words... like:
MILF Dating

But if my domain is fuckamilf.com
I will mostly use:
fuckamilf.com
https://fuckamilf.com
Fuck A MILF
how to fuck a MILF
where to find horny MILFs
how to find horny MILFs online
get laid with MILF dating
date MILFs online
online MILF dating site
etc...

You want to give Google the idea that you are a MILF dating site without looking like an asshole spammer. You want to mention your branding a lot.

This site seems nice. https://www.chathouse-roulette.com/cate ... ouse-news/
But, the site has no link juice. The links it does have suffer from the same shit your own links do.
It has no traffic and no search results. It had some meager ones. But Google took them away for the same reasons Google took your links away... and this is the idiot you ask for your links from?

These people asked me for a link and then offered these pages for linking back:
https://www.xxnx24.com/
Page has no content. Page is in German. Page has nothing to do with anything I own. So even if it was Alexa 40,000 and had DA/PA values of 60/60 I wouldn't take a link from it. Google will know it was an arranged link.
In this case I denied the trade and clicked on the users name to bring up their profile page so that I could block them from asking me for trades in the future.

https://www.realgirlsoncam.lsl.com/en/
I don't want links from somebody's Live Jasmin white label, or whatever this is.
http://pornmageddon.com/
And I don't want links from this link farm.
This user will get a ban as well.

As for linking A <=> B and what not. For the most part I link A => B, C => D. Meaning:

My domain.com links into your store.com
Your MILFs.com links into my milfdates.com

I have hundreds of sites to trade links from. You should work on making a blog network of your own. It is far easier to get links from people here if you have many sites to offer a link back from. I would turn you down and block you from seeing me because you have only one site.
Did I just do something for you? Consider making a donation to LinkSpun!
