I see most of you guys have lots of websites. Isn't it better to grow one to full potential rather than having hundreds without any actual worth ?
Just sharing some thoughts...

It depends on your SEO strategy.
I personally have over 1000 blogs. These blogs are mostly what I get link into from here. Then I pass that link juice onto my money sites via my blogs. Rarely do I have a money site get a direct link from a site on linkspun. The reason being, many of the sites here are of low quality. And for a reason...
If I have a "money site" and it makes me $10K per month I need to make sure ALL links into it look legit. And I don't want to link into somebody else's site without purpose from my site. Many of my money sites don't link into anything else except perhaps a whitelabel cam site. All SEO purposes.
So... I have about 600 sites here in linkspun to either get links or give them and not affect my money sites. I don't want a site here to link into my money site and then that site giving me the link decides to give non-relevant links to 100's of other sites over the next 2 years. Then Google decides that site is giving bullshit links and fucks with my money site for being on the bad site.
So I have a layer of protection if you will.
Not that my blogs don't make me money, they do. Just nowhere near the amount my money sites make.
If I was trying to build the next xvideos I would not have 1000 shitty ones. Like you suggested, I'd make one kick ass one. Or perhaps several covering alternate niches like shemale or gay. If I was trying to make the ultimate babe blog I'd probably have 5 of them. But you wouldn't be able to get a link to any of them here on linkspun. I wouldn't expose them like that. And I certainly wouldn't want every German phonesex guy hitting me up for completely irrelevant links! So I'd make a blog network to support my sites... 10 or 15 to start... and make them relevant to my money sites.
I also buy links to my money sites from other high quality sites.

Great input vrocks ! Are you managing all these domains by yourself ? I assume it's tedious work without help.

Which types of ads do you prefer for the money sites ? Interstitial, pop, in-video banners ? Which ones have you found most successful in terms of conversion ? Or you'd rather get paid on CPM and not have to worry about leads ?

I have a crew that writers, admins, etc. But a few years ago I did manage all of my sites. Back then it was 200 or so. Now it is over 1,000.
Ads really depend on the site. If it is a fully done babe site then those virtual desktop stripper ads work decent. So does a footer ad that rolls up for something like free access to Playboy. We used to run ads through our own system, but not anymore. Each site might have something that is static or we do something like Juicy Ads where they do all of the bullshit. But with that route you make far less money, but have literally nothing to do with it. So it is essentially free money.
We do prefer popups for webcam traffic and usually do the ad during the first click on the page. Just about every tube does the same and you get livejasmin or whatever.
By and far the most successful ads are the dating and the webcams. On our money sites with lots of SEO traffic we do well with paring a video/gallery with the site it is for... But things work out like:
popup webcam: 30%
sidebar or footer slide in dating: 10%
everything else across 450 sponsors and their various content: 60%
On non-money sites it is more like...
popup webcam: 80%
Dating: 10%
everything else 10%
