Turning a 1-1 trade into a stacked trade?

Often I'll propose a trade, say for someone's PR1 site to link to one of mine. Then they respond proposing one of my PR3 sites to link back. Obviously this isn't an equal exchange.

Is there any way for the initiator revise the trade (without denying it & starting from scratch) in response, for example to stack & thereby even up the PR/site quality? I kind of looked around for this option, couldn't find anything.

In the future just limit the PR he can request back.

Limiting the PR doesn't work if you don't have any PR1 sites to offer.

I don't see an easy way for linkspun to handle this. The only way I can see is to cancel the trade, then have the other person send the initial request. Wish there were an easier way too.
