can partners chane anchor texts after trade is live?

Strange thing happened, I got wrong anchor text error on my end. Trade was live for months and suddenly today I got error message saying that I need to fix an anchor. How come? If it was wrong it should have given me error months ago (when trade was setup).
And yes I am sure that I did not mess up with an anchor recently, as I just looked google cache from 3d January and that anchor was "incorrect" even back then.

All I can say its either:
partner changed anchor text recently (while trade was live)
linkspun did not detect wrong anchor for few months (during all active trade
period)

Or we changed our anchor checking bot to be more specific about what is the correct anchor?

Yep, noticed the same problem. Got a new link error saying "Incorrect anchor". I didn't change anything.

In each case I have people saying this it is your anchor that is wrong.

We provide the: Copy HTML - Link - Anchor - Alternate Formats: Hyphen Pipe <li> (LO)
So you can get exactly what your partner requested.

Often what has happened is some webmaster with no SEO experience didn't know this adding ~ or @ or | inside the anchor tag was wrong. Or old algo used to only check if the anchor was there. Not if it was character for character the same thing.

So these used to be the same thing:
|big cock| : big cock
big cock | big cocks
~ big cocks | big cocks

Now they would be different. In all cases the entire thing could have been avoiding by using the copy links, links provided.

Ok, here is an example:

I added the following link (link provided, copy&paste):

<a href="http://www.someurl.com">My Camel Toe</a>

checked the links, all ok so the trade went to the "Active trades" list.

Now, many months later I have a new link error saying I should have added this:

<a href="http://www.someurl.com">Camel Toe</a>

As you can see the anchors are different. Weird.

What I have seen lately is there was a / on the end of the url that my trade partner was using as anchor text and now I am being told to remove the /. I always copy and paste so I assumed the original url had a trailing / on the end when I copied it since I did not knowingly add any characters to the link.

This often happens when you right click the URL and select copy. Your browser automatically ads the / to the end of the URL even if the original URL didn't have one.

Yes, my case was similar, additional characters in anchor. I assume its what vrocks was talking about - you could have used "my fucking camel toe" and it would have been ok as long as words "camel toe" were there.

The strange thing, however, is - is it possible that you posted "my camel toe" if partner requested just "camel toe"?

I'm not 100% sure but I doubt it as I always copy the links (copy&paste). Another link error said I have added "Worlds Hottest Babes" but parther requested "Hottest Babes" :?

In case anyone cares I figured out why the urls that some webmasters want to use as anchor text keep getting the last backslash added and then when the LS upgrade went into effect I was notified about wrong anchor text for those links

When I copied their url into my trade script it gets cached and then I copy the anchor text which is very similar and my browser does a paste complete of the previous text for me.

I just noticed this today while creating another trade. My issue was operator error and not any user changing the link text later. :?
