Today I will discuss the often infuriating setting up a trade to wait...

When I make trades with others I often set them up instantly. I know some out there get upset when they do this and their trade takes days or worse... weeks... to reciprocate. It sort of pisses me off too.

So in order to chillax I try to think of the big picture.

If I have 8 trades currently set up on my side, but not there side I often feel the compounded pressure of having "8 fucking trades not being reciprocated!" Then I think a little deeper... Between the two major adult trading systems I have 1300 trades. I also have another 200 or so I made outside of the systems. So in reality I have one half of one percent outstanding or .0053 that aren't being reciprocated.

Now... Is that really going to bring down my network or fuck up my link juice? Fuck no!

So I usually don't sweat it and spend more time looking for more quality trading partners. I have met so many interesting people here. Without this place I would never have found them and the time it would have taken had I tried outside of the system would definitely effect me more than having .0053 trades outstanding.

Now... If it gets to 2 weeks we have a problem. It is rare and those people need to be called out. As for the weekly people, you get to know who they are. I often wait for them to add the trade first. We all have to realize that for some people this is a hobby that pays for itself so they might not be around for a week or so...

So chillax!

Send me some more requests. That way you'll have more immediate trades to help you relax about the longer waiting ones

This brings up some good points, but the one that is in my mind already is about our lock system.

We had a guy last night also get locked out, now he didn't have an armload of trades waiting for links, but did have a whack in pending, when he finished the deals, it put him into the freeze as he had 10+ trades needing addition.

Should there be a time stipulation set on these? IE - IF trades are less then a day old, limit is 20, if any trade is a 10 DAYS old freeze?

I dont know how hard it would be to code but the best case would be an either/or scenario...

25+ open trades = lock until some get set live
OR
10 or more open trades for 72 hours in a row

Something like that....

(open trade is a trade YOU agreed to with links waiting for YOU to add them)

V_Rocks, thanks for the instant trades, even the stacked ones. That being said, I'll try your chillax theory

I wrote a script to handle trades for my blogs... So if you want site x and anchor y on 8 of my sites I only have to enter it once and then check off the eight sites you want it on. It also clears their cache. Working on something like that for my sites so I can do the same with them.

As for the time thing...

select id from table_setup_trades where date > date + 6 days...
if count_rows(id) > 10 force the mother fucker to set them up first.

So if he has more than 10 that are older than 7 days.... that way doing 20 trades in one day won't effect him.
