This is getting ridiculous

Sigh.

<RANT>
Please, if you want any chance of getting a trade accepted you have to have something available for backlinks that is at least of some sort of minimal quality. A 10 item list of cookie cutter splogs never meant to go anywhere is not gonna cut it. At this point it's getting annoying, I'll be filling up my blacklist.

btw. This isn't newbies doing this, it's ppl I suspect been around the block and are just fishing for something for nothing. Fine, you can hide you'r most prized sites but come on, give us something to work with!

I have to agree, you are supposed use the hidden features and that strategy to develop GOOD trades for both parties while still hitting your prized sites first. It isn't meant to be abused and spammed to death with crap.

Is any of this detrimental, or beneficial to your search engine rankings?

If someone on your black list made their trade sites "willwank" minimum standards compliant would you un-blacklist them? or trade?

ROFL!

All my sites are wide open. Wasn't even aware of a hidden feature.

I dont mind trading with splogs as long as they are updated all the time, and also NOT on thumblogger or sensual writer etc.

Those hold no value at all and there are guys with hundreds of them.

I feel that my standards are even higher than Willwank's and I am constantly forced to deny trades and waste time here.

While there are a few genuine webmasters here willing to trade links to a mutual benefit there are far more who are either trying to get something for nothing, or they are just plain clueless.

The number one reason I deny trades is that the quality of the available sites is so pathetic that backlinks are worthless. There are too many users here who push the moneysite/linksite strategy to the extreme and their backlinks are worthless, if not detrimental.

The lowest I would go in regards to a backlink is a website with the correct niche and content value for a real human on a .org domain. Nothing lower.

It would be cool if something could be done to keep the riff-raff out.

Just Deny and move on. Even with simple instructions on your profile, people don't even take time to read those.

gotta take the good with the bad.

I really like the guys with tons of instructions - 'handwritten blogs only', no tgps, no etc etc

And their sites ring alarm bells when I look at some posts with copyscape.

Bottom line, I've gotten some great link trades here. Many many more than I could get before I joined and it's certainly helped my serps and income.
