Members that drop links because the bot didn't find matching

When the scanner bot finds that links are missing I usually check and find that the server of my trading partner is acting up. Maybe the MYSQL server is down or the entire server is down. I try my best to contact the person either by their contact information in their profile (which should be mandatory, BTW) or by their whois information.

I don't remove their links from my sites because I know that downtime is just part of the Internet. Even large companies like Google have downtime. Not too many weeks ago I, and others in SoCal, couldn't connect to Gmail. Shit happens.

I am getting sick and tired of the shitheads, not just here, but on other trading networks too, that don't do any do-diligence and just remove links. Then when the situation is fixed not even a hour later I am the one without a link back from my partner for days!

The funny shit about it is that the people who drop links in this manner usually are lucky I even accepted their trade in the first place since they didn't really have shit for me to get a link back from.

I either leave a comment in the trade page or try to contact them directly.

If trade is still inactive after a week, I drop their link.
