can a site lose its pr3 over night?

Probably, I once had a PR2 site going to PR0 over night and about 2 months after that from PR0 to PR2 again over night.

Google is doing some really odd shit right now.
I have a blog I just created a month ago at PR3.
I have a blog I created years ago that was at PR3 go to PR1.
On the second site I actually decreased outgoing links, increased incoming links and so it makes no fucking sense other than Google can do what ever it wants to...
