Simple Coding Fix To Make Linkspun Even Better

I've been with LS from the start and love the way it works.
Thanks to everyone who is keeping it going.

One small code fix would make the whole system much easier for everyone to use.
As it is now, we all copy and paste thousands of links and anchor texts every day.

Can you add a simple 'Copy this text' icon next to the link url and the anchor text?
Then a user could simply click the copy button and have the exact text added to their clipboard.
It would be much easier than highlighting each text segment and clicking ctrl+C

On 1 trade its not a big deal... but across 1000s of trades per day for the entire community it would be a tremendous time and keyclick saving improvement.

Thanks!

This is implemented on the individual trade setup page. Are you asking for it to also be on the trade setup list page?

ie. Magnifyer/Checker/[L]ink/[H]yphen/[L]ist/[P]ipe

I personally would love that. It would remove the need to go to the individual pages and therefor take less resources for the server and the end user.

On the list of agreed trades on http://www.linkspun.com/trades_setup.php

Next to each url and each anchor that YOU need to copy for the trade.

Just put a small C in a green circle or something as an icon.

1) User clicks C next to the url, then pastes the info to their site.
2) User clicks the other C next to anchor text, then pastes the info to their site
3) Verify trade.
4) Repeat

OK... are you talking about info being just the linking URL and then just the anchor text?

I am talking about this on my example + your example:

U = http://www.rhinosgirls.com
K = Rhino's Girls
A = <a href="http://www.rhinosgirls.com">Rhino's Girls</a>
H = - <a href="http://www.rhinosgirls.com">Rhino's Girls</a>
Li = <li><a href="http://www.rhinosgirls.com">Rhino's Girls</a></li>
P = | <a href="http://www.rhinosgirls.com">Rhino's Girls</a>

Then you could click on each and get copied to your clipboard the stuff it relates to.

Just a simple 'copy to clipboard' next to each of the items I need to add to my sites.

It would allow everyone to trade 20x faster...

He is referring to the trade page before clicking on the magnifier. It is useful to have some copy options there because if you add a link to a blog then you have to copy the link and the anchor by selecting it, if there was a copy button for link and anchor it would be easier to setup as there is a check link button on that page.

VROCKS thank you very much for making the website fast again, its a pleasure to do trades now :)

THANK YOU

Yeah... I am knocking out a massive number of trades because it is such a fucking pleasure when it is this fast!

As for the request... It is in the wrong forum...

Just kidding. I will see about making some kind of quick fix for such a thing.
One thing I personally didn't like was that the keywords link goes to a Google query... Always thought it'd have been much more useful doing what you are suggesting or nothing at all just to make it easier to select them.

Yeah that would be an equally good fix. Clicking the actual text to copy it.
It will prevent idiotic typos and copy/paste selection errors.
Along with the faster site speed it should be quite a productivity boost.

Thanks

On the trade setup page this has been added. You can now click the link and the anchor text to copy it to clipboard.

Working on adding this to the setup trade also. That way you don't have to even go to each trade individually unless you need the HTML version.

How lazy are we that you can't just right click & copy the link?

So now it's 3 steps to go look at the page you're trading with:
1 - click the link so that it's copied
2 - open a new window/tab
3 - paste the link & go to the site

This new "function" is useless IMHO - it's a link - it should be clickable.

You do know that you can right click & simply select "Copy", right? No keyboard required.

yea, great function! but personally me never go to trade details page and copy the information from trades setup. and i also copy link from and link to URLs to save it in my linksorganizer. so i think i'll stay on ctrl+C ;) just a marking option would be very nice.
Thanks anyway for great update!

Hmm.. it seems a lot of you use link organizer to manage your links. I wrote my own software to handle what it does so a lot of the tools on the page probably don't help you LO guys out. I installed LO to understand better what you guy/gals actually want/need from the trade setup page to make your lives easier.

From a programmers standpoint it is best if you explain in great detail your process for adding/subtracting links. You can PM it to me if you'd rather not post it here for some reason.

I saw someone mention being able to check off trades. I assume this is so you can export certain new ones into LO? Something like that could be useful to me also. Ability to export today's jobs only...

Discuss please.

I moved the links around a bit to try and accommodate both the people that prefer a click to clipboard and those that prefer to right click, copy...

Now... I was also wondering if anyone would want such functions on this page:
http://www.linkspun.com/trades_setup.php

That way you never have to see any of the trades individually... Just handle it all on one page.

Thinking LO people would want an export function on that page and then a button next to it for checking all trades at once.. Then you don't have to click the little checker icon for each one separately.

for me would be just nice to have an easy marking function for all fields on trades setup page. i think it's too much to ask about export function, linkspun i would say is the most usefull free tool for adult webmasters right now. if you decide to bring out a paid linkspun version, then you can add that function for paying members. but if you add such bulk functions for free users now, will be difficult later to disable for free users, many users will be disappointed

I think something gets lost in translation...

What do you mean by easy marking function? And on which page do you consider the trades setup page to be? setup_trades.php or trade_setup.php?

As I mentioned, what would work best is an ICON next to the url and anchor text. Perhaps a "C" in a circle. When you click the C it copies the text to your clipboard.

That way you can still click the urls to visit the sites OR click the C to copy the text without having to highlight each snippet manually.

It is needed on the list page http://www.linkspun.com/trades_setup.php

sorry for late, i was meaning in http://www.linkspun.com/trades_setup.php to add each information into extra input field with an easy onfocus="this.select()".
problem just with stacked trades, then if the trade is stacked, should have to look in trade_view.php
