Way too many people with sites listed that don't seem to know about the hide site feature, or are just to lazy to learn how the site works.

if the site is not setup for link trades, it should not be in the find trades section.

not sure if this aggravates anyone else, but I have better things to do than requesting trades just to have them declined.

Yep, often you can see by looking at the page that they are obviously not offering links from it, so why list it as available for links?

Isn't the point of having hidden pages so that you can request trades TO a hidden site without offering trades FROM it. As I understand it a site with lots of backlinks and few outgoing links would be favoured by Google.

yes, that's the point. you are supposed to hide a site if you are not planning on adding links to the page.

when its hidden you can still request people link to that page, it's just not listed for other people to ask for a trade.

Its not always that simple.
For example, to the OP, you are offering only narrow niches trades back and maybe
the partner you request links from doesn't needs that kind of links at that moment.
There are people around here that have sites only from a niche and well if nobody wants links from those sites you're shit out of luck.

not talking about different ways people like to trade, but all the pages listed in the find trades section. do I need to post about 200 URL examples and challange anyone to have a link posted on any of those URL's?

you have a page you never are going to add links on = HIDE

paysite listed in the find trades section, not adding links never ever never never = HIDE

have a page listed, not going to EVER add links to any other site, but want people to link to that page = HIDE

get it? if you have a page you NEVER plan on adding links on, hide it. don't just let everyone waste time asking for a link and the end result is... you deleting the request because they ask for a link on a page you don't add links on.

What if you have some sites you only want quality links on? Sorry to all webmasters out there, but 95% of all sites are pure crap. The other 5% sites I'd gladly link to if they have decent content, good layout, loads fast and not to much annoying advertising. I dont care much for page rank as long as the site has some value. But if it doesn't, I dont want to link to it.

And a mistake on that persons part as well.. Google looks for natrual links and that means that from time to time a Non Niche site is going to link to you. Maybe you have a Solo girl site and someone comes along likes your site wants to show it and shoots you a link from an anime site. Well google thinks thats ok and actually natural. If you get an ass load of links from anime it no longer looks natural so I am sure you get the idea. a few out of niche trades from time to time is ok.

Maybe jdoughs should make an alert for a week or sometime in the top of window (as it appears sometimes after updates), so others, who do not know this feature may try it.
