I have altered all my sites to dating category, but when I click on dating I cannot see my dating sites listed, is this normal.

Yep completely normal, by default they sort by 'last login' which would mean every category you loaded, you'd be on top of. And since you don't trade with yourself, we remove your own sites from that category.

So you don't see them but everyone else does. It's just so your own sites don't clutter results of the category you are looking for links in.
