Users, OK'ed a trade, logged in since, No links up?

Looking to push links to a site and want specific niches, site types, numbers, tld's etc, this is a good place to ask or look.

Users, OK'ed a trade, logged in since, No links up?

Post by vrocks »

I don't get it... For the most part I put people's links up as soon as they OK a trade. If I am the one OK'ing the trade I put them up right away.

I have had a lot of linking partners ask for trades, I offer a link back, they OK it and then log in several times since the trade was in Setup Trades status and they don't put the link up, sometimes for weeks, even after I put their link up. Is this some kind of retarded strategy?

Anywho... Currently I have 1 that is in the going on a week status... Actually longer because I left a message on that day. The trade was up and OK'd a few days before I finally sent a message.

Deadmoon. I put the link up on 4/10/11... You have logged in since. Last time was 4/17/11 Put the link up already!

Yeah, sometimes I wonder why people in fact sign up for Linkspun. Or like you said, its some sort or weird strategy.

I'm very "generous", they have 10 days to put up the link (which is also a script setting in LO). If it's not up by then I will drop the link and block the user in Linkspun.

If I ok the trade it goes up immediately. If they ok it, I wait for them to put theirs up first before I will.

Once I put a link of they have 2 days before I comment. Once I comment they have 2 more days before I pull link. If it's a consistent problem, I ignore them.

weeks is excessive. I'd remove the trade if it were me.

I also didn't process some trades, but I was on vacation and internet connection was (as I expected) totally horrible here in a rural place. Also picked a cold and didn't feel very well to do much work.

Processing everything today...

If I finalize agreement, I place first and give them 2 days to recip. If they finalize, I wont place links until they do.

Ok, getting cheated here to. I just "dropped" a view trades and blocked the person. This is just a behavior problem, there is not much LS can do about it.

If it is a strategy it is lame and we need to squash that shit right away.

In the past week I had two "experienced" webmasters and even an affiliate manager who thinks they can get away with it. I have not found a single script that allows you to register a trade without putting up a backlink, but here are some idiots that think you can use linkspun to cheat.

And the worse is, they have years of experience, have seriously 10000 of posts on various forums and expect you to bow down for them.

Anyway, thank god there are many good traders (still) out there, but you have to keep your eyes open guys or you get cheated over and over again.

I just had this happen:

Guy asks for 3 trades. I put them up in April... He strings me along... I'll get to it this weekend... So I leave them up... I take a week off. Come back, still not up. I ask whats up. Immediate answer. They will be up by tomorrow... I take another week off. Come back... Still not up. I take mine down... 2 days go by. His domains expire.

Amazing...

Only the domains he was linking into me from. His linked into domains are still working.

I agree with the things you guys describe in here.. but! I think some users on here should think twice before they lose their patience on a linktrade. As a general rule I give 1-2 weeks before I pull my links, but lately I've noticed some trades have been deleted because I myself didn't place the links quick enough (they lost patience after around 3-4 days).

The things that bothers me are:

1. I have many linktrades with them already so they should know I'm reliable. Check if you already have trades with the person. The only persons I've experienced screwing around are new guys I don't already have trades with.

2. 3-4 days? I live in Denmark, we've had a lot of holidays spread around the last month + I don't work on weekends.

3. Again 3-4 days. Please! Have a little patience, perhaps check the forum to see who is active on here to get the feeling if someone is scamming you or not.

4. Just because someone has been online, doesn't mean they actively have been pursuing trades. Sometimes I login from my mobile on weekends (yeah I know I wrote earlier that I don't work weekends...), just to check if sites are running (Linkspuns robot linkchecker is excellent at this).

I can totally understand the dilemma. People are tired of getting screwed around, but still sometimes good trades gets canceled because of impatience, that could otherwise run for years for mutual benefit.

@spunar

Dude, 3 to 4 days is waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy to late. If you find the time to accept the backlink then I'm pretty sure you can put up the link. Otherwise, just wait with accepting the backlink until you are sure you have time enough to setup the link.

It doesn't matter if you already have links with the person or not. It's just common sense (not necessarily a scammer thing). There is not a single linktrade script that would even have your trade considered if you don't put the link up befor you hit submit. So why should it be different on LinkSpun?

In all honesty, I'm getting a bit tired of people saying that they are too busy or don't have enough time to setup the trade. Link trading is an activity, not something you can do on the side. Don't forget, your link partners are putting in a lot of effort as well.

You requested the trade, you accepted the backlink, so you setup the link… It's not a big deal. Just do it.

Its fun to read...

We up twice per day our links and last month we had a linkpartner who was fighting me after 3 HOURS that the links are not up and that we have to build them directly.

Sorry but nobody tells me how to do my buisiness. I earn enough and i am long enough in the business to do my job the right way. The god thing everybody in our office was laughing

If somebody is not linking to you kick him and block him and finish. But making diskussions per comment cost only time for you and all others.

I made a small mistake... I forgot to say my rant was on when users request a trade, and I reply with my request. Then I don't get to place a link before the user accepts my reply. That's when it has happened that they pull after 3-4 days even though its between weekends and I haven't been online.

I always place links if it is me who have requested a trade and then of course is the one who needs to accept the trade and be the first naturally to place the link.

Hope it makes sense ;)

AshlAr is the worst half the trades he requests or accepts he never reciprocates, after waiting for a week i message him/her and all i get is an arrogant reply. I had to block him/her so that I cant or he cant request trades.

That was with me, and it was a little bit different then you are suggesting in the thread. But let me know, I would be happy to drop your links m8.

You guys are a bit extreme here IMO. First, look who is the trader. Are their sites good quality ones? Do they have more than just a few that are at least semi-related to your niche? Do you think its going to benefit you trading more with them?

I'm ok with waiting for up to 10 days personally. Not everyone is working full time in this biz. Any longer and I won't bother unless they specify they are on vacation or some other legitimate reason.

In April I was on a meditation course, which took 12 days, without access to internet or even TV or radio/books. Then been 4 days fishing with friends in a very rural place. Despite having a message in my profile about this, a couple traders called me names for not putting links, and a couple more simply dropped theirs. I guess nobody reads that shit in profile anyhow :)
