I wonder why many webmasters put blog directories recip links before link trading links?
Not fair
Blog directories recips before link trades?

Re: Blog directories recips before link trades?
Haha... I have made several posts about this.
I put those at the bottom and I also go back and make sure the directories are promoting me from the index or page one... by the time its on page 2 of last in, first up I drop the link. Also make sure to go back and try resubmitting. Twan is notorious for dropping links after a while.

Blog directories -> waste of time IMHO
Re: Blog directories recips before link trades?
It's really a pain in the ass dealing with twan's directories sometimes. I usually submit every new blog I create but sometimes he doesn't add one or he will pick and choose which directories he will add you too...which pisses me off, at least have something set up to email you if a blog won't be listed - he's getting free fucking backlinks that way.

direct to the point, nice dude
Re: Blog directories recips before link trades?
This is how I do it: first I submit a new blog to directories and have links on top for a while. About a month is fine. Then move them somewhere in the middle of the sidebar, and make sure other trades appear above them.
After 6-9 months pass just purge all directory links. Your blog is so far down their archive it's not worth keeping those links any longer.
And yes, directories are generally a waste of time, so don't count much on them. They are ok to help index your new blog and get a bit of linkjuice, but it soon fades off.

That's what I use them for...getting my blogs indexed faster. I usually always submit new blogs to directories and recently did a test where I built a few blogs and didn't submit and it took those blogs much longer to start getting decent SE traffic. I think I've only ever made a handful of sales from directory traffic...mostly seems like people looking for free porn.venril wrote:This is how I do it: first I submit a new blog to directories and have links on top for a while. This one is OK. The links don't disappear and it sends some traffic back. I've had sites on there for around a year and no complaints so far.
