If we had an operating budget I'd offer up some cash. But we are still working on the free model. Any who... Which one of you is going to put in the millionth trade request?

Unfortunately we would hit the number in a day or two since we have almost 2500 requests a day. If the contest was instituted it would be more like 10,000 a day I presume...

Perhaps I can set up something for the 1,111,111th trade?

That would make it about a month and a half from now or less depending on how many trades people blowout trying to hit the number.

My personal and professional thoughts:

If I were to do it I would also prefer to do it as a fundraiser also. A 30/70 thing.

Cash prizes can not be given out because that is a lottery and not a raffle. So I'd have to convert the cash into prizes like Amazon gift certificates, Stats Remote payment and such. Things I don't have to waste money on mailing.

Perhaps something where you buy tickets at $1 each. And each ticket gives you a chance to win. So that the 1,111,111 trade guy gets 20% of the remaining prize pool,
1st place ticket drawer gets 30%
2nd place ticket drawer gets 20%
3rd gets 15%
4th gets 10%
5th gets 5%

So out of $1000 tickets $300 goes to LinkSpun.

$140 goes to #1,111,111
$210 goes to first place in drawing
$140 to 2nd
$105 to 3rd
$70 to 4th
$35 PPS to the 5th wheel!

Would take 200 members to buy $5 in tickets to hit that mark.

#1,111,111 doesn't need to have purchased a ticket, but must live in a country where Amazon gift certificates can be redeemed.

For every $200 in the prize pool after $1000 is reached a new pay level would be added. So that $2000 would pay 10 drawing winners, $3000 would pay 15, etc... With the top prizes also scaling up.

We'd have to get this in place with rules ultimately hammered out by this Friday!

For the record the millionth trade initiated was started by Crookedinc and requested of TheSenator and... He denied it!

I think it had something to do with the German/English trade problem.
