Adult SEO Training

Post by major48 »

So what do you guys think about the Adult SEO training? I saw one of the ads when I was setting up a trade. I am seriously thinking about doing it so maybe it will help me figure out what I am doing wrong but I don't want to be sinking my money into a waste of time. Does anyone know anything about the people running it?

Save your money, theres enough free info to learn yourself, spend a few hours a day/week reading up on SEO.
That training looks like its geared for high end paysites, not blogs, TGP's or tubes like we do. Not saying the training won't work for us, just that it seems expensive when you can learn for free.

My own personal take on it in the most unbiased way I can talk about an advertisers product:

When I first got started in online marketing there was a lot of useful info all over the place. I worked 14 hours a day, 4 days a week. I had 2 days to learn and 1 day I devoted solely to my family. After about 1 year of not getting much done I decided to hire a "coach" to help me along. I spent $250. In two weeks I learned a lot about how to make money in adult. Nothing SEO. We are talking newsgroup posting, posting to tgp/mpg sites, free sites, making fhg's and other stuff. Because of that instant boost I started making $500 a month right off the bat the next month. Previously I was making about $100 to $200. After about 6 months I did a $700 SEO coach. I learned a lot of black hat stuff. My income went to $10K a month very quickly and then twice that by years end.

Could I have learned all of this stuff without a coach? Yes! Of course I could. There were many sites detailing how to be an affiliate in adult. Something about a frog in the domain, or maybe a pond, comes to mind. Had tons of info. But no leadership on what I "should" be doing. There also was a lot of info out there on black hat SEO. But having somebody show me how to think really helped. That knowing how to think allowed to me rethink how I was spending my time. What I was working on.

So if you were a lot like I was with a family, long work days and no a lot of time off a coach might be just what the doctor ordered. If you have lots of time on your hands and you have an income that is rapidly growing month to month you don't need a coach. Maybe you should be coaching. Decide which category you fit into. If it is the first one I suggest not sitting on the fence and getting it done. That was another thing I learned on the first time around (after the fact). I should have done it earlier and I would have made more money sooner.

Final note: I can vouch that this consultant is a real SEO professional. He knows his stuff and won't steer you into putting your sites on page 350 in Google like most of the SEO guys around right now are doing. His info will also work outside of adult in case you want to go mainstream someday.

@mcfester Yea I have been doing that for the last couple of years and its still something I am missing because I am just not making money at all

@vrocks That's what I need is a actual coach. Someone to look at what ive done and tell me that I am doing something stupid. Like I told mcfester I have been actually doing this for a couple years now but i never make any money but since I love doing it I don't stop. Now I really want to start doing this full time as soon as I can so I don't mind paying the fee and long as I am getting a good teacher.

Interesting, maybe it is the right time now to get proper training with all the panda/penguin shit going on.
I read they are rolling out another update soon, or already have done this weekend.
I checked a keyword today I used to be #1 for years, even beating the brand Playboy.com, now I'm not in the serps at all for it since last year. One of the first porn sites after all the wikis, youtube vids and news is a TGP with not one word of text on the page, just keyword in meta T&D, only 8 domains linking with that keyword. Even Playboy.com is on second page lol.
I think its right when Matt Cutts says he prefers us do no SEO at all.
We want people doing white hat search engine optimization (or even no search engine optimization at all) to be free to focus on creating amazing, compelling web sites. As always, we’ll keep our ears open for feedback on ways to iterate and improve our ranking algorithms toward that goal.

If a TGP with not one word of text is an amazing, compelling web site then I'm fucked in this game

It took me 5 years to start making 1000$ a month. There is nothing wrong with you, i would stay calm and work on the basics, content, links, socials. It takes time, and its even harder now to make an honest buck.

@webdanger
Well I will say that I have had a little success in the last week. I started putting my sponsor links in facebook posts on a fan site I own with 20,000 likes. They click em like crazy and I have had a little conversion

My old ICQ (2003b) won't run anymore. $250 was 10 years ago and the other about 8 to 8 1/2. No idea what they are doing now.

Let us know how you like it. Maybe I should make a forum for people to be able to review different services. Hosting, SEO, free blog hosts, etc...

You tried to bribe him, that didn't work. Maybe you should bend over and drop your draws.

Hey - lets all hit reboot in a jolly friendly spirit ... bickering on forums is so 90s ...

I suggest we all share some cream cookies, then each go send eachother a nice trade request and I´ll throw in a free beer at the beach bar to the first linkspunner to come round Alicante :D

In your control panel above left you will have an option on its right that says friends/foes. Make him a foe.

This is just like the book I wrote helping adult webmasters break into mainstream. Sure if you spend 100 hours surfing the net you can find 90% of what I wrote in one form or another, but if your time isn't worth more than that, perhaps you're in the wrong business :)
Make Money in mainstream! I have been doing so since 1994 and can teach you about the huge differences between mainstream and adult. Mainstream marketing

Hey guys,

I just noticed this thread, thanks for the kind words vrocks!

And it's true, there's loads of SEO articles and tutorials out there you can use, two of the most useful ones imo are http://www.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-seo and http://www.quicksprout.com/the-advanced-guide-to-seo/ (this advanced guide is particularly helpful).

The reason I started Adult SEO Training though was to help save the time it takes to digest mainstream guides and then translate them into actual game plans for adult sites. Because as we all know, mainstream is a different beast than adult. For example, buying links in mainstream is a dangerous game, but in adult it's the only reliable way to control the value of incoming links. We don't have all of the linking resources mainstream does, so it takes some creativity and a lot of testing to find alternative ways that work for us. And I made this training site to share all of this.

mcfester, it's true that a lot of my focus is on high end paysites.. there's just such a big market to help paysites find ways to rank around tubes that I might have been biased by the opportunity. :D But, there's plenty to help blogs and other smaller sites. The concepts and methods are the same.

And if any of you want to talk shop feel free to post here or even email me directly, I'm always online.

Adrian
