Hosting - seohosting matter?

Post by timelord »

Hello
I am searching for a new web hosting provider ( webhosting plans, not vps or dedicated servers).

My mind goes to a hosting plan with ip's from different c class , something like seohosting
Any sharing of experience (good or bad) will be appreciated.

This myth with having different ip's for every sites help someone in SEO?

many thanks

I'm old school on having a mix of geo-IPs and c-classes for critical sites in my network, mainstream or adult. There are articles to the contrary you can find via google search about how it doesn't impact SEO, but I believe it does...tho I'm no expert, I just play one on the net. Anyway, I recommend Cyberwurx, you can contact them for a custom hosting package.

I personally use both Amerinoc (see sig) and Cyberwurx. I am very happy with both of them.

As for if it makes a difference. I know of a porn star network that is pretty well known with about 600+ sites and growing. It is hosted mostly on 1 IP address. It makes over 15K a month. All of the sites link into each other. Things that are supposed to be no-no's...

Would the network be more successful if they split it up into sections and hosting companies? Who knows? The only facts we do know is that it makes more than you do a month by "breaking the SEO rules".

I suggest Googling for the Google patent. After reading it you will know exactly what Google has in its algorithm, you just won't know how much each portion effects overall results. In there they state that Class C is taken into account. They also mention nameservers. They also mention data centers. For those reasons many SEO people split their networks between several hosts and put everything on separate class C IP sections.

Some have stated that this information isn't currently being used by Google and never has been used. I would bet 95% towards that view myself. I put my stuff on different hosts, class C's, etc, because next year Google might decide to roll out an update that finally does take this all into account. My stuff would be Golden! That porn star network would be trashed...

Back in 2005 SEO hosting was extremely expensive. These days they give IP's away for 25 to 50 cents a piece. So you might as well burn an extra $25 to $50 a month putting those 100 sites on separate class C's in case...
