Enjoying LinkSpun? Put $5 on it.

Post by vrocks »

I recently added a banner into rotation whereby you can donate towards the programming and maintenance of LinkSpun. Lots of you pledge that you would support a pay to play model and many tell me if I put a button you'd donate for the years you have used LinkSpun for free.

Doing manual tasks that are required to keep things running smoothly puts a severe strain on my ability to work on my personal projects. That being said, the idea of spending more time here programming new features isn't as appealing as it was two years ago. By donating you will inspire the programmer inside me to spend more time here than on my own projects.

Put $5 on it. Put $10 on it. Put $20 on it.

You have been using LinkSpun for weeks, months, years for free. Show me how much LinkSpun has been worth to you are your business.

Thanks for using the service. I look forward to adding in new features and a subscription model soon!

DONATE HERE

Haha... True. I was just going through the Stop Trade Amnesty thread and noticed a strong correlation between those that use the thread to remove old trades and those that are having their trades stopped by me because they were too lazy to do so on their own against those that have donated already.

People who keep their accounts in order donate.
People that continually disregard stop trade requests and have unusually high unanswered trade requests don't.

This is taking into account the 1,111,111 promotion donations as well.

Overall I have noticed a HUGE increase in the number of people leaving the industry altogether. I also see it in the mainstream as well. In porn it seems to be a two front situation where easy Google results aren't there anymore due to tube's dominating the SERP's. Add to that the tubes dominating the surfers attention. In mainstream I have seen Penguin and Panda wreck havoc on the low hanging fruit easy results there as well. So lots of small time people are going back to working their day jobs.

This has created a lot of working clearing out dead trades that seem to pile up as quickly as I can add new ones. On the flip side many of those really were bad trades. So overall the quality goes up as they exit.

For those that are left I figured putting $5 on it would be pretty easy. If you use LS and it has made you money donating $5 is a pretty good trade off. A few that have made good to great money because of LS have went above $5 and I thank you all who are doing so. I am grateful to those who do $5 as well. Also grateful you all choose to use LS.

Donated!

It would be nice if you guys could put a Domain Authority info next to the in and out pages of certain site...

Lately I've been getting requests from a lot of users with DA of 1 and pages that can't even be considered sites...

I don't know where quality has gone... Still I hope Linkspun will evolve and serious webmaster will remain here!

What service would the domain authority value be pulled from?

I use this one: http://www.robingupta.co/bulk-domain-au ... ecker.html

I can't say where they get the data from... :(

Looking into it...

Side note...

I have noticed that many people who have paid me for one thing or another through the years with Paypal have used their wife's account to do it. So if Mike Schiller sent me a payment it came from Donna Schiller's account.

Is this because a lot of you have had your personal account blocked for one reason or another and you moved on to using your wife's account in a much more secure, non-adult fashion?

Nope, Its one account with multiple email addresses for me, i forgot to switch the default email of paypal. Many who are doing adult sites have wives/gf who work as models, that's a valid explanation for many of us.

Thanks for the generous donations all.

The domain rank can be added to the service. Will take some time to code and the bot will take a few weeks to update each pages rank here. I might do something where it starts getting the rank by PR+, OBL-, user is active+, site is not hidden+ so it will benefit you quicker as they are added. It will most likely become a paid for item eventually. And possibly higher accounts will be able to spot check sites for this kind of info on the fly.

Some of you hit me up in a PM and asking about donating with an alternate method since your country and Paypal are not happy with each other.

Mix up between character encodings... you cannot see it, but your partners system sends a different kind of space character. fixed it in DB

Technically I donated a whole 24 hours before loging into this forum and seeing your posts, but whatever.

You are right though, thinking you're an ass is what made me donate higher than I normally would.

In fact, what amount would I have to donate to guarantee Seomedia (and all his nicks) banning?

Much appreciated. Always wonder why people have such a problem with Paypal. Then again, Paxum is a LOT less in fees. Just wish they had a donate button. The dreaded ePassporte had just gotten their shit together and included such things into their system before they took a dive off the deep end with no water. The money I lost there was from one of them buttons.

Haha... Being that SEOMedia is a significant portion of the trade transactions here that won't be possible. Also, I prefer to make love, not war. Maybe I should institute a per trade fee.

A .025 fee to request a trade here would net $60+ a day.
That would cost the 150 a day people $3.75 each a day to spam the shit out of everyone. Sounds like Facebooks new way of doing things kind of.
Average person: 12 trades a day. .30 cents.
Right about the $9.95 for a mid-level subscription without premium perks.
Strange when you ballpark something and it ends up being spot on...
For that 150 a day guy, $99.95 a month and you get extra perks... One being that it is an average and you can do up to 400 a day on working days with 4,500 a month cap total.

I love brainstorming... obviously...

I can't imagine someone actually requesting 400 trades a day, they wouldn't even have the time to check the sites their requesting links on. The only answer to that would be their brainless spammers.
